In China services offered under the brand DEinternational are provided by the 8 offices of the German Industry & Commerce (GIC). GIC provides tailor-made services to help its clients succeed. It specializes in the Chinese market and supports companies with a wide range of services.
The department Market Entry & Business Development (MEBD) provides German companies with a number of services to frame a sustainable market entry or to profitably expand business in China, which includes advising companies on their Chinese market entry; researching potential markets, sales channels and partners; generating marketing strategies and materials for events. This applies particularly in the areas of food & beverages, environmental technologies and e-commerce.

Actively lead a team of currently 8 members
Provide leadership for planning, implementation and controlling of all ongoing projects
Overall management of the department, overseeing of tailor-made consulting projects, market surveys, public projects, events, delegations and special projects
Cooperate closely with and oversee project managers and staff on execution of projects; tracking expenses according to project budget; and reporting functions as required by major projects
Actively develop and drive e-commerce consulting services for German companies which would like to enter the Chinese market and advertise these services to all stakeholders
Develop internal procedures to continually improve the working of the department
Build and maintain working relationship with key industry partners, multipliers and clients, including German ministries, DIHK, the German Consulate Shanghai, Germany Trade & Invest, other trade and economic development agencies, industry associations and chambers
Candidates Both Internationals and local Chinese
Bachelor or higher degree; at least 5 years working experience, preferably in business development, sales or industry consulting services. Experience with regard to (cross boarder) e-commerce services is a strong plus; at least 2 years in team leader or management position
Fluent in spoken and written English and German; knowledge of Chinese is preferred
Excellent skills in project management, a superior aptitude for analyzing working procedures as well as the ability to think strategically in order to improve and develop the department, its services and the business
High level of personal integrity, reliability and interpersonal skills. Strong communication, presentation and selling skills
Events and major deadlines require a flexible work schedule and willingness to work extended hours
Regular travel across Asia, China and Germany is required
Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel & PowerPoint and familiarity with CRM systems
